Safeguarding Policy
We strive to ensure that all children and vulnerable persons can enjoy karate in a safe environment, and parents can be confident of their child's safety.
All members are required to complete a form giving details of their address, phone number, date of birth, any medical conditions or injuries and parent or guardian consent to join the club.
At the club, there will always be an instructor present that holds a DBS Enhanced Certificate.
We encourage parents to watch, or participate in classes alongside their children. Children aged 12 and above may attend classes on their own. If you are leaving your child at the club, please come into the training venue to collect your child afterwards.
Instructor Qualifications
All classes will be supervised by at least one instructor with the following qualifications or certifications:
- A Sport England-recognised coaching qualification
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks to enhanced disclosure for teaching children
- Statutory first aid training within the last 3 years
- NSPCC Child Protection training within the last 3 years
- Full Indemnity Insurance
Any regular assisting instructor will also be subject to enhanced DBS checks.
